Animal Welfare

Animal Welfare is very important to us and we do everything to ensure the experience is safe and enjoyable for our goats. Here are some FAQ's about the sessions:

ARE THERE BABY GOATS IN THE CLASS?

We have a mixture of adult goats and kids in our classes. If we are lucky enough to have kids join us, they will be accompanied by their mother so they have access to milk until they're weaned. Most of our goats are adults though, and have been at our affiliate farms for a number of years and are used to human interaction from regular farm visitors.

HOW MANY HOURS A DAY ARE THE GOATS EXPECTED TO WORK?

Our goats work no more than 60 minutes per class and we only run one class a fortnight.

ARE THE GOATS DEPRIVED OF FOOD AND WATER TO PREVENT THEM FROM URINATING/DECAFACTING?

Our goats have access to fresh water and grass, and are given feed during the class from participants and farm visitors.  We understand the goats have invited us into their home where they eat and go to the toilet and if this happens your teacher will be on hand to clean up any mess. Sometimes it can get messy, so please don't wear your best yoga gear!

ARE THE GOATS FORCED TO PARTICIPATE?

No, none of our goats are forced to participate in class. One of the reasons we love working with goats is because they're social, fun animals who crave attention and are natural climbers!

WHAT ANIMAL WELFERE LEGISLATION DO WE FOLLOW?

We adhere to strict legislation including the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and Pet Animals 1951
