School & Farm Tours
Deen City Farm and Riding School isn’t just a fun place to visit – it’s also a unique learning resource. We collaborate with many local schools and organisations in offering a range of educational experiences and activities.
The benefits of learning outside the classroom are well documented and widely recognised and local schools and pupils can visit and have both a great time and a valuable learning experience.
Self-Guided Tour
You and your group can explore the farm at your leisure using the animal signs as a teaching aid. When you book to visit the farm with your school, your helpers will be given some animal feed in a bucket to distribute to the children to allow them to have a much closer experience with our animals as well as an activity sheet to help them explore.
Cost: £2 per child
Guided Farm Tours
Why not let one of our experienced farmers guide you and your group around the farm, letting you get up close and personal with our larger animals? You and your group will get a bucket of animal feed as well as an activity sheet.
These tours are for School Groups or Organisations of 10 children or more and are one of the best ways to experience the farm. These tours usually last about 60 minutes.
Cost: £4 per child (Please note that there is a minimum charge for the guided tours of £40)
Capacity: Minimum booking is for 10 children, maximum 30 children, groups maybe spit into two/three smaller groups.
We also offer a range of additional options to enhance your visit with us. These options are in addition to the tour prices, and are not currently available on their own.
Pony Rides
Unleash your group’s inner horse riders as they are led around our pony riding track by one of our experienced riding school staff.
Children must between the ages of 2-7 and be able to sit up independently and safely fit into one of our riding hats.
Build Your Own Enrichment
Help keep our animals happy by building them some fantastic new toys. Learn about what enrichment is, and why it’s so important to keeping animals happy and healthy.
Pizza Garden
Explore pizza making – starting with seeds! Your group will have a brilliant opportunity to learn about how to grow plants and grind flour. When you’re done you can take your pizza garden away with you and watch the plants grow back in the classroom until they’re ripe. Contains basil, tomatoes, oregano, chives and wheat.
Please note: we are unable to provide cheese as we don’t think you’d really still want to eat it by the time the plants have grown. If you plan to use the garden to make a class pizza we do recommend buying flour due to the amount required – we’re trying to keep this portable!
Bones & Bodies
Exploration session based around bones – and the animals that they once belonged to. Learn about animals’ bodies, and the challenges palaeontologists face trying to work out what ancient animals used to look like as your group tries to work out what our bones are from!

Planning on visiting Morden Hall Park?
We’re very fortunate to be situated next to Morden Hall Park, a brief 10-15 minute walk from the farm. If you’re planning on visiting Morden Hall Park or even passing through with your school group, you may need to book in advance.
Please have a look at their National Trust website for more information on structured and self-led visits to the Park.
Visitors to the Farm can also access us via Windsor Avenue and we have some car and minibus parking just outside the Farm.
