Every school holiday we run popular activity programmes at the Farm, offering fun, friendly, educational and healthy activities for young people.
Young Farmer Day – £30.00 per day
Join our livestock staff for the day and learn about all the work it takes to keep the yard running and all the animals at the farm happy. It’s not all hard work though, you might learn all about handling small animals, or maybe take the ferrets for a walk around the yard!
Young Farmer Days take place during all school holidays from Tuesday – Friday.
Days start at 10am and finish at 4pm for children aged 8 – 12 years.
For Young Farmers children should bring with them:
- Packed lunch or money for the café
- Plenty of drinks
- Wellies or waterproof boots
- Appropriate clothing for the weather, with legs and shoulders covered
- Long hair must be tied back
- No jewellery
Each day starts at 10:00am, with a brief break in the morning and then an hour for lunch, and the day finishes at 4:00pm. Children must be signed in and out at the Classroom.
Maya, aged eight, said: “I like Young Farmers because as well as meeting big animals and mucking out you get to play with small animals” and Poppy, aged nine, said: “I loved Young Farmers because we learned about farm animals and how a farm really works, we saw what goes on behind the scenes at the Farm and met new and interesting people”.
