As a charity we are run and governed by a group of dedicated volunteers, who we call Trustees. They are ultimately responsible for the running of the farm and are selected from our group of ‘Friends of the Farm’ at an AGM once a year.
As well as acting as representatives of the users of the Farm, the Trustees bring a wide variety of skills to the committee, including HR, Marketing and PR. As we are also a company (limited by guarantee) they act as the company directors.
Current trustees (2015/16):
Liz Daughters (Chair), Sue Champness (Vice Chair), Henry Nelless (Secretary), Jim Brown (Treasurer), Lisabeth Liell, Viveka Alvestrand, Carolyn Wilson, Philip Henson, Joyce Bellamy, Joanna Rossi and Claire Smith.
Becoming a trustee
With several long standing committee members due to step down this year, we are currently recruiting new voluntary trustees to support the long term development of the Farm.
Our ideal trustees are strong communicators, well organised and committed, with a good knowledge of the local area and a genuine interest in the work of city farms and riding schools. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in the following areas
- Education (particularly Key Stages 0-2)
- Veterinary medicine
The Farm’s committee meet 8 times a year, as well as supporting events and fundraising activities at regular intervals. Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check.
If you are interested in applying, please send a recent CV to Liz Daughters at firstname.lastname@example.org.
