Classroom Hire for Parties

We hire out the Farm's Classroom mainly for Children's Birthday Parties, but we are quite happy to consider loaning it for almost any use!

What You Can Have

Two hour hire of the Classroom

Animal Encounters

Pony Rides

Party Bags

Catering

Prices

£50

£20

£1 per child

£1.50 each

£3 per child

We prefer you to know exactly what you are getting so you are welcome to visit and ask to see the Classroom.  You are effectively paying £50 to hire a bright, clean open, classroom space in a safe, farm-type environment.  And it will save you spoiling your carpets at home!

Animal Encounters is a service by which a few of the smaller animals (usually three or four) are brought into the classroom for the children to stroke and learn a little bit about.  It's usually rabbits and guinea pigs and maybe a chicken.  It does depend on what is available and what the livestock staff deem suitable on the day.  Depending on the children's attention span, it takes between 10 and 25 minutes.

The Children can have pony rides but we have to run these at 3pm in order that it fits in with the Riding School's schedule.  Please do visit the page on Pony Rides as there are strict guidelines on which children can have a pony ride.  Parties do get priority with pony rides but it takes about a minute per child per ride.  There is a £10 minimum charge for Pony Rides.

Catering is our standard picnic boxes available through the Cafe, ie. a sandwich, crisps, drink, snack bar or cake.  These need to be ordered in advance but precise numbers can be confirmed on the day.  You are paying for the convenience when having this service but you are equally able to bring your own food.

You need to contact the Farm to make a provisional booking.  You then complete the booking form and submit this with payment of at least £50 (it is £60 if including pony rides and a further £20 if you want Animal Encounters) to secure the booking.  You must do this within 14 days of making the provisional booking.  Any remaining payment must be paid in advance or on the day.

Party Booking Form

Use this form only once you have made a provisional booking.

A typical party will start at 2pm and finish at 4pm, so that pony rides (at 3pm) eat into the time for which the party organiser has to keep the children occupied.  You have access to the room for half an hour beforehand to set up banners and balloons.

Most parties will start with food (whether it is brought in or provided by the Farm) to get it out of the way before playing games or having Animal Encounters.  Perhaps another game and then home.

The room is swept and cleaned by Farm staff but any effort towards tidying away is much appreciated.

Important Notes:

  • Alcohol is not allowed at Deen City Farm.

  • Please keep any balloons within the classroom as they can seriously disrupt horse riding lessons.

  • You are free to open all the windows, but we are sorry that the fire doors should remain shut for Health & Safety reasons relating to our Riding School.

We hope your party is very enjoyable!
