As part of the
educational aspect of our work, volunteers
may participate in
visits to shows such as Wimbledon Village Fair,
Camden Green Fair, Mitcham Carnival or weekends away. Volunteers
have also
visited Olympia, the International Horse Show,
attended a Residential Lambing Course at Lambourne End and spent a day riding in the forests of
Berkshire at Rainbow Rides.
But don't forget
that it is hard work and not all fun & games. And you do
have to do as you are told by staff and more senior volunteers!
Junior
volunteers on the Farm are with us for a period of 13 weeks
before they have to step aside and let someone else have a go.
Junior volunteers on the Stables can stay with us for longer as
we can never have too many youngsters willing to lead ponies,
groom them or clean up their mess. Stables volunteers
normally have to have attended a Stables Training Day before
they can start volunteering at the Farm.
