Farm Tours
The most popular Educational Visit to the Farm is a Farm Tour. This involves groups of up to 15 people (usually children or vulnerable adults) being taken around the site by members of farm staff. (Larger groups are split into as many groups as needed to get the number per group to be less than 15).
The basic information on a Tour is as follows:
It would normally last between 30 minutes & 50 minutes, depending on the attention span of the children/group;
Participants usually get to feed several of the Farm's animals and to touch/stroke some smaller pets and the sheep.
Information is given throughout the Tour at a level appropriate to the participants; information can be geared towards addressing a particular part of the National Curriculum if required.
The areas covered by a tour are: the Garden, the poultry, the farmyard/larger animals, the small pets corner and the stableyard.
The cost of a Farm Tour is £2.50 / person.
Risk Assessment information for a Farm Tour will be available shortly from this page...
We can also offer a Classroom Activity which links in with the Tour. This may be compulsory for larger groups and increases the cost of a visit to £4 per person.
