Volunteering at Deen City Farm

Special Notice: We really need help with holiday courses and farm tours. If you've got experience working with children and want to help out, please get in touch!

Our Volunteer Programme is very popular and there is usually a waiting list in place. For some roles this can be over three months long, so please be patient!

If you are looking for work experience you should contact us by phone to establish whether or not there is a space.  If your dates are available you will then be asked to complete an application form to secure your placement.

Do you want to:

  • learn new skills?
  • gain confidence?
  • make new friends?
  • become part of our community?
  • get out of the house and
  • interact with the environment?
  • get fit (many of our roles are physically demanding!)?

With a very active Volunteer Programme funded by the Tudor Trust we believe we can offer something for everyone.  You can help out on the farm itself, in the stables, the garden, the cafĂ© or with other one-off projects.

As a registered charity we rely on the help of our volunteers in addition to our dedicated staff.  We currently have over 100 volunteers who come along each week each bringing great diversity to the farm.

The minimum age of volunteers is 12 and there is no upper age limit!  Juniors (12-17) generally come at the weekend, and Adults (18+) come during the week (Tuesday to Friday).

We also offer placements to volunteers who come with a support worker.
