Pony Rides

For children under the age of eight, and under 7stone in weight, the Riding School offers pony rides to give youngsters the chance to experience being on the back of a horse.

To meet insurance requirements and Health & Safety guidelines, for a child to have a pony ride, we advise that children must be:

  • able to support their own body weight, and
  • be properly fitted with a riding school hat

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a ride for any particular child.  Age doesn't always make a difference: some children of 18 months have had pony rides and some aged four or five have not. It all depends on the size and shape of a child's head - they develop so differently.

We have the smallest hats available and our priority is to keep your child safe.

When do we offer Pony Rides?
We run pony rides every Wednesday at midday and at Weekends at 3pm (Saturdays and Sundays).  We run them Tuesday to Friday at midday during School Holidays in the London Borough of Merton.
Pony Rides cost £1 per child and the ride lasts about a minute up and down a woodchipped area by the fields at the Farm.  The queuing area is behind railings at the bottom of our biggest field.
