We offer incubator hire to schools & nurseries, we host work experience placements; we run a Farm Club after school; we work on horticultural projects with local schools; almost anyone over eight can experience horse riding; we support volunteer placements so that people can build up friendships and enjoy the time they give to the Community.
One of our most popular educational activities is a Farm Tour where a group (larger groups are split into smaller groups of usually no more than 15) are told about the animals while they go around the Farm. Often, the group feed some of the animals. It shows that the Farm appeals to all ages in that our typical audience is those aged 4 to 7 but we very pleased to have conducted a successful tour for a far more mature group as part of the Celebrating Age Festival!
Farm Tours can be adjusted to meet the needs of your group or we can talk about other educational visits whether it is a trip in line with an element of the National Curriculum or a pottery workshop or a felt-making class. We can give presentations on a particular type of animal or host your group's own activity in our Classroom.
The first step is to contact our Education Officer by email to outline what your requirements might be and they will get back in touch to discuss options and costs. For more information on a specific Educational Activity, use the links to the left or those below. You could also have a look at our leaflet on the Education Programme at the Farm.
